Representative ImageCHANDIGARH: The Punjab govt has clarified that there is no need for an NOC (no objection certificate) for registration of deeds for sale of land falling in the “abadi deh”.The department of revenue, relief and resettlement has written to the deputy commissioners in the state that it has come to its notice that at some places, sub-registrars are insisting on NOCs during registration of deeds even when the land falls in “abadi deh” areas.“It is a known fact that the area falling under the abadi deh is not under the planned area. The Punjab Apartment and Property Regulation Act excludes any such area. Thus, the act is not applicable to abadi deh. NOC for registration of documents in respect of such areas is not required,” it said. TNN
